Welcome. I imagine that most of you, who have found this site, have already acknowledged that
you are
anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or maybe just
weary. Possibly, you already have had a round or two of personal therapy, you have read
a few self-help books, and
you have certainly
thought a lot about how to improve your life and your relationships. You may have a lot of ideas--even good ideas--about the uncomfortable areas of your life--but deep down you sense that something fundamental hasn't shifted, and you wonder whether it really can. You are not alone
in this situation.
The truth is: we are wounded in our earliest relationships, and our deepest healing therefore occurs in relationship. While many of us have had awful overt traumas,
it's also the subtle, day-to-day non-verbalized tension we grew up with that stays in our system. My approach takes both of these factors very seriously.
By creating a collaborative relationship with you, and addressing the non-verbal aspects of your connection to yourself and others, healing goes to a level of depth that many other therapies may unwittingly miss. Perhaps you’re aware that you have
been harmed by physical, emotional, or sexual abuse—yet still allow maladaptive patterns to limit you. Or maybe you are
trying to re-awaken a stagnant marriage. Possibly you are an
executive, or professional who is dealing with
troubling work issues, or questioning your career, or feeling burned out, or having difficulty finding a balance between work and home-life. Perhaps these issues are showing up as
back pain or other
uncomfortable psycho-emotional and bodily conditions. I want to meet you with whatever you bring to me so we can transform the “problematic” into clarity, freedom and increased ease. I have been assisting people with these issues since the early 70’s. I am a practicing psychotherapist who has been integrating my personal journey to truth and wholeness with the best of mainstream and alternative approaches. There has been a creative tension for me between what I was taught and what I could only discover inside myself, and I bring the fruits of this integration to our work, empowering you to hear your own voice, not mine.
